Four Apparel Workers Killed In Early Morning Crash

COLOMBO (News 1st); A fatal road accident in the Moragoda area of Thalawa, Anuradhapura claimed the lives of four individuals early this morning, according to police reports.

The collision occurred between a lorry traveling from Mullaitivu to Kuliyapitiya and a van en route from Ja-Ela to Mullaitivu. 

Police confirmed that two additional individuals sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital.

Among the deceased are two young men aged 25, and two others aged 31 and 38, all of whom were employed at a garment factory. 

Preliminary investigations suggest that the van driver fell asleep at the wheel, leading to the tragic crash.
