COLOMBO (News 1st); On the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly, Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath held a series of high-level bilateral meetings aimed at strengthening international partnerships and advancing Sri Lanka’s foreign policy objectives.
Minister Herath had a constructive exchange with Serap Güler, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
The two leaders discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation and shared perspectives on key global issues, including economic development and regional stability.
He also met wit Elina Valtonen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, where discussions focused on deepening cooperation between Sri Lanka and Finland, particularly in areas of technology, education, and sustainable development.
In a separate meeting, Minister Herath engaged with Abdulla Khaleel, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives.
The two ministers reviewed ongoing collaboration and explored new avenues to further strengthen the close bilateral relationship between the neighboring nations.
