Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Meets Indian Counterpart in New York

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath held discussions with India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

In a post shared on X, Minister Herath stated that the meeting reaffirmed the strong friendship and close cooperation between Sri Lanka and India.

The talks highlighted the longstanding bilateral ties between the two neighboring countries, with both ministers emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

The meeting took place as world leaders gathered in the United States for the 80th session of the UNGA.
