Indian National Arrested at BIA with Rs. 15.5 Million Worth of Kush Cannabis

COLOMBO (News 1st); An Indian national was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, while attempting to smuggle a large consignment of Kush cannabis into the country valued at Rs. 15,560,000. 

The operation was carried out by officers from the Police Narcotics Bureau.

According to Police, the suspect, 36, had carefully concealed three packages of Kush Cannabis in his luggage and attempted to bring them into Sri Lanka early this morning. 

The total quantity of Kush Cannabis seized by authorities is 1 kilogram and 556 grams.

The suspect will be produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court today.
