COLOMBO (News 1st): Sampath Manamperi who is currently in the custody of the Police Narcotics Bureau, was brought to the Western North Crime Division today for questioning.
This was to question him in connection with the incident where substances containing the drug "ice" were found buried in a land belonging to him in Middeniya.
According to Police, Manamperi was questioned for over four hours.
This comes after the Government Analyst and the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board recently confirmed that the substances found buried on a land in Middeniya and in its vicinity contained methamphetamine commonly know as the drug "ice".
Meanwhile, Kehelbaddara Padme and Backhoe Saman, two organized criminals currently in police custody, were also extensively questioned yesterday.
Police said the suspects, who are in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department, were brought to the Western Province North Crimes Division for questioning under special permission from the Inspector General of Police.
