COLOMBO (News 1st) - Ceylon Electricity Board employees are engaged in a two-day trade union action today and tomorrow by taking sick leave, demanding that the restructuring process be carried out properly.
Prabath Priyantha, General Secretary of the CEB Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya, said he had sought a discussion with the Minister of Energy regarding the matter but has yet to receive a response.
Meanwhile, Dhanushka Parakramasinghe, an Executive Member of the Ceylon Electricity Board Engineers' Union, stated that their members will also withdraw from performing additional duties as part of the ongoing trade union action.
