Truck Used in Crystal Meth Manufacturing Seized

COLOMBO (News 1st); A truck suspected of transporting chemical substances used in the production of methamphetamine (commonly known as "ice") has been taken into custody by police.

The seizure was made during a special operation conducted by the Colombo North Crimes Division. 

Investigations revealed that the truck had transported the chemicals from Middeniya to Nuwara Eliya, and later from Nuwara Eliya to Kandana.

The vehicle has now been handed over to the Kelaniya Crimes Investigation Unit for further inquiries.

The discovery is linked to a recent information provided by Backhoe Saman, a known figure in organized crime, who reportedly revealed details about the movement and use of these chemicals in drug manufacturing.
