COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Digital Strategy 2030 has been officially highlighted as a transformative roadmap for Sri Lanka’s journey toward a digitally empowered and sustainable future, according to Pradeep Saputhanthri, Secretary to the Prime Minister.

Saputhanthri emphasized that the strategy is “not merely a government policy, but a shared vision for the nation.”

He outlined the strategy’s foundation, built on three key pillars:

1.Enhancing Economic Competitiveness
The first pillar focuses on accelerating the digitisation of key economic sectors, including agriculture and manufacturing, to boost productivity and global competitiveness.

2. Creating High-Paying Jobs
The second pillar aims to foster inclusive employment opportunities by developing a digitally skilled workforce. This includes ensuring universal broadband access, enabling citizens across the country to participate in the digital economy.

3. Delivering Trusted and Inclusive Public Services
The third pillar seeks to strengthen digital infrastructure to provide efficient, transparent, and secure public services. Saputhanthri noted that the government is committed to building systems that support secure digital transactions for individuals, businesses, and institutions.

He noted that the strategy is designed to maximize the value of data, promote trust, and ensure digital inclusion for all Sri Lankans.
