Rajapaksa Family Departs Official Residence

COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa has officially vacated his official residence in Colombo, relocating to his private home in Carlton, Tangalle. 

This move follows the recent parliamentary approval of legislation that revokes certain privileges previously granted to former presidents.

As he departed, Rajapaksa briefly addressed the media, saying, “We were asked to leave, so we’re leaving.”

When asked about his future in politics, he responded confidently, that he will not step away.
