CEB Union Action: Work-to-Rule Begins

Colombo (News 1st): Ceylon Electricity Board unions initiated a work-to-rule action starting midnight, demanding resolution to issues related to the restructuring process and other concerns. 

The unions, including the Ceylon Electricity Board Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya, Progressive Workers’ Union, and the Engineers’ Union, are pushing for 16 key demands.

The action follows the Sri Lanka Electricity Act implemented on August 27, which restructured the CEB into four companies. 

Employees are expected to be assigned to these companies based on their preferences, with letters recently issued to staff.
