Rs. 700 Million Released for Rural Development Projects So Far

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment has announced that funds for this year’s rural development projects will be released to Divisional Secretaries before the end of this month (August).

Secretary to the Ministry Sampath Manthrinayake said that approximately Rs. 700 million has been released so far.

He added that Divisional Secretaries who received the funds have promptly begun implementing the projects.

Manthrinayake said, rural development initiatives worth over Rs. 100 million are currently underway, while measures will be taken to ensure steady progress in all ongoing projects.
