Two Remanded Over Marawila Businessman Murder

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Two suspects in connection to the murder of a young businessman in the Katuneriya of Marawila have been remanded until the 14th, following their production before the Marawila Magistrate’s Court.

Additionally, a 16-year-old suspect has been placed on probation.

The businessman’s body was recently discovered in a pit at a vehicle service point in the Lunuwila of Udasirigama.

This was followed after a police investigation initiated after the businessman’s mother filed a complaint reporting him missing since the 30th.

During the investigation, police located the businessman’s luxury cab parked at the home of the main suspect, a resident of Wennappuwa.

After arrest and questioning, the suspect revealed that the businessman had been attacked with a sharp weapon at the vehicle service point in Lunuwila and then thrown into the pit.
