Defense Secretary Inspects Doppler Radar to Enhance Early Warnings

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Secretary of Defense, Retired Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha has conducted an inspection tour of the Doppler Weather Radar project site in Puttalam.

The Ministry of Defense stated that the project, supported by the Japanese government, aims to deliver timely and accurate weather forecasts nationwide and strengthen early warning systems.

The visit underscored the strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Defense and the Department of Meteorology in developing infrastructure to enhance resilience against potential natural disasters in Sri Lanka.
