COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel, Nimal Bandara, said that 213 Sri Lankans have registered with the embassy to return to Israel once the situation in the country stabilizes.
Meanwhile, 37 Sri Lankans have registered their intention to return to Sri Lanka, with 8 individuals having already arrived on the island.
Ambassador Bandara expressed optimism that the situation in Israel would see significant improvement by the end of the day.
The Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel says efforts are underway to lift the ban on public gatherings and celebrations.
Ambassador Nimal Bandara stated that several Israeli airlines have already resumed a limited number of international flights from Tel Aviv International Airport, with normal flight operations expected to resume today.
The embassy also confirmed that both Israel and Iran have agreed to uphold the current ceasefire, signaling a move toward stability in the region.
