CID Probes Australian Dairy Cattle Imports

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has launched a comprehensive investigation into the importation of dairy cattle from Australia between 2012 and 2017, amid concerns over financial irregularities and procedural lapses.

As part of the inquiry, the CID has summoned former Ministry Secretary Renuka Ekanayake to provide a statement. Although she was scheduled to appear today, she has requested an extension until Monday.

Renuka Ekanayake is notably the wife of former Presidential Secretary Saman Ekanayake.
