COLOMBO (News 1st); President Anura Dissanayake has appointed new secretaries for two key ministries.

Air Vice Marshal (Retired) Sampath Thuyacontha has been appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Defence.

Meanwhile, former Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Ravi Senaviratne has been appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Security.
