US to support SL in debt program - Eastern Governor

COLOMBO (News 1st) - US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung met with the Easter Province Governor Anuradha Yahampath on Tuesday (8).

The Governor noted that the Ambassador during the discussion stressed the US will support Sri Lanka's debt restructuring program.

"The Ambassador said that the US will provide assistance and facilities for to secure a successful debt restructuring program, and IMF program. She said that we will have to make some tough decisions. I informed the Ambassador that those decisions must protect Free Education, Free Health Care in the country," the Governor told reporters.
