Man sentenced to life in prison for possession of 4g heroin

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Colombo High Court Judge Navaratne Marasinghe on Tuesday (1) sentenced a man to life imprisonment for possession of heroin.

In addition to that charge, the judge also imposed a fine of Rs.25,000 on the accused, who was found guilty of heroin trafficking.

On June 29th 2016, the accused was arrested by the Police Narcotics Bureau with 4 grams of heroin in the Mahabage area.

The judge concluded that the prosecution had proved the charges against the accused beyond reasonable doubt and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
