CID Chief summoned to P'ment over phone tapping

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The CID Director has been summoned to Parliament over an alleged phone tapping incident.

The Director of the Criminal Investigation Department has been informed to appear before the Parliamentary Committee on Ethics and Privileges on the 18th.

It is related to an investigation of a complaint made by the Member of Parliament  Patali Champika. where he said his phone was tapped.

Its Chairman Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe mentioned that the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department will be summoned before the Parliamentary Committee on Ethics and Privileges for violating the privileges of MPs.
