Export Earnings Surpass US$12 Billion in First Eight Months

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka's total export earnings have surpassed the US$12 billion mark during the first eight months of 2026, reflecting continued growth in both goods and services exports, according to the Export Development Board (EDB).

The EDB stated that total export revenue recorded during the January to August period increased by 4.26 percent compared to the corresponding period last year.

According to the Board, Sri Lanka earned US$11.52 billion in export revenue during the first eight months of 2025.

Merchandise exports grew by 3.63 percent, while services exports registered a stronger increase of 6.59 percent.
