COLOMBO (News 1st); The Second reading of the Appropriation Amendment Bill was passed in Parliament on Friday (2).
120 votes were cased in favor, and 5 votes were cast against it. Notably, there were 43 abstentions.
The three MPs from the National People's Power and the two MPs from the Tamil National People's Front voted against the Budget Amendment for 2022.
The Samagi Jana Balavegaya and the Dullas Alahapperuma faction of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna abstained from casting their vote.
Kumar Welgama, who was elected to Parliament from the SJB voted in favor of the Budget Amendment for 2022.
All 10 Tamil National Alliance MPs were not present in the Parliament chamber when the vote took place.
