Shots fired inside Mt. Lavinia Court

Colombo (News 1st): A man had opened fire at a defendant inside the Mount Lavinia Number Two Magistrate's Court on Thursday (4) afternoon.

Sri Lanka Police said shots were fired while a drug related case was taken up for trial.

Police added that no one sustained injuries. 

According to Sri Lanka Police, a man from among the crowd targeted a defendant who was in the court dock for the trial.

News 1st correspondent said that two shots were fired and no was injured.

The shooter had opened fire for the third time to scare the crowd in order to make his getaway during the melee.
