Sri Lanka's Prisons Chief at Human Rights Commission today (26)

COLOMBO (News 1st); Commissioner General of Prisons Thushara Upuldeniya has been summoned to the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) on Thursday (26).

This is related to the investigation into a complaint filed that a group of inmates of the Watareka Open Prison Camp had participated in a meeting held at Temple Trees on the 9th of May.

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) also recorded statements from a group of inmates held at the Watareka Open Prison Camp yesterday (25).

In addition, the HRCSL recorded statements from Sudesh Nandimal, Secretary of the Committee to Protect the Rights of Prisoners, and Attorney-at-Law Senaka Perera yesterday (25).
