Only electric vehicle imports in the future?

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Environment Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said a Cabinet Memorandum on allowing only for electric vehicle imports, was produced to the Cabinet on Monday (24).

"The President has shown interest in the renewable energy sector. At a time when the world in only speaking of it, we want to go for this," he told a gathering in Kandy.

Amaraweera said he was happy when the President delivered his policy statement to parliament recently noting that priority will be given to electric vehicles when speaking of vehicle imports.
