COLOMBO (News 1st); A teacher who died in Tuesday’s (23) Kinniya Ferry Tragedy has been hailed as a hero by the families of victims, as she had risked her own life to save three children.
“She saved three children from drowning. She died when she tried to save a fourth child,” said a father of two daughters, who died in the tragedy.
Families of victims said if the Kinniya Hospital was well equipped with sufficient stocks of oxygen, the victims could have been saved.
“There were no oxygen tanks in the ambulances that came to the location from the Kinniya Hospital,” said one family member.
