Three Day National Dengue Prevention Programme Ends Today (10)

COLOMBO (News 1st) – The final day of the three-day National Dengue Prevention Programme will be carried out today. 

The National Dengue Control Unit says that mosquito breeding sites were detected in 24 percent of public premises inspected during the first two days of inspections.

More than 50,000 premises in high-risk areas were inspected in the last two days as part of the programme.

Inspections will continue today.

Meanwhile, 37,654 dengue cases have been reported so far this year.

Officials are urging the public to take responsibility in preventing mosquito breeding and supporting national efforts to curb the spread of dengue fever.
