Love affair ends in murder, two others also injured

COLOMBO (News 1st); A man was stabbed to death when he attempted to shoot dead his daughter's boyfriend in Uragasmanhandiya.

According to reports, the deceased had visited the residence of his daughter's boyfriend with another, and both were intoxicated at the time.

He had opened fire with a 12 bore shotgun, and the shots missed and struck the mother of the young male, who is also a soldier with the Army.

The young man had reportedly charged at the shooter and stabbed him, eventually killing him.

The other man who accompanied the deceased was also injured in the head.

The injured man and woman were admitted to the Elpitiya Hospital for treatment and a police investigation is underway.
