Dengue Cases Top 77,000 As High-Risk Areas Remain Under Surveillance

COLOMBO (News 1st): The National Dengue Control Unit states that the reporting of dengue patients remains high in several districts, including Gampaha and Colombo.

Its Director, Dr. Kapila Kannangara, mentioned that eradication programs are still underway in 63 high-risk Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions to control the spread of the disease.

The number of dengue cases reported so far this year exceeds 77,000.

The number of dengue deaths is 57.

Dr. Kapila Kannangara also emphasized that the public should be committed to keeping their surrounding premises clean.
