Clean schools before reopening, says Keheliya

COLOMBO (News 1st); Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella requested school authorities to organize 'Shramadana' clean-up campaigns prior to the reopening of schools. He said this speaking about how parents, teachers and other relevant parties should conduct themselves prior to the recommencement of schools. Accordingly, schools with less than 200 students will be re-opened on 21 October of this month, however the Minister said that plans are also afoot to reopen schools in the Western Province for the A/L and O/L grades after having extensive discussions between the Health and Education Ministries. He also requested the schools development committees, Government officials, public representatives including the parents of the students to organize a 'Shramadana' clean-up campaign sprior to the reopening of the schools in order to carry out the academic activities without any hindrance.
