Don't be misled by myths & misconception, obtain the vaccine - Experts

COLOMBO (News 1st); It is paramount for all to obtain the vaccine against COVID-19 without being deceived by myths and misconceptions spread by those with commercial objectives, noted Professor Manuj C. Weerasinghe.

Professor Weerasinghe is the Head of the Department at the Department of Community Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

He said there is absolutely no truth to claims made that obtaining the vaccine against COVID-19 could have a negative effect on reproductive health.

At the same time Consultant Physician, Dr. Eranga Narangoda of the Homagama Hospital for treating COVID-19 patients said the vaccination drive attributed to the reduction in COVID-19 related deaths and infections.

He stressed no vaccine is superior to the other, and 

that all those above the age of 18 can obtain any vaccine as the immunity of all vaccines is the same.
