Seven mobile phones and other items thrown over prison walls, seized

COLOMBO (News 1st); Seven mobile phones and seven phone batteries have been seized by Prisons officials after two parcels contaning the phones and several other goods were thrown over the wall of the Galle Prison, Prisons Spokesperson Chandana Ekanayake states. He said that two parcels contaning seven mobile phones, seven mobile phone batteries, a lighter and tobacco were thrown over the wall of the Galle Prison at 08:30 a.m. yestreday (27). Prisons Officials who were on duty at the time have seized the relevant parcels and handed them over to the Prisons administrative officials afterwards. The parcels, alongside its contents, have been handed over to Galle Police for further investigations.
