Local politico arrested for assaulting railway gate operator

Colombo (News 1st);  Sri Lanka Police arrested three people including a member of the Udunuwara Pradeshiya Sabha for assaulting the railway gate operator at the Penideniya Railway Station in Peradeniya.

According to Sri Lanka Police, an argument had taken place between the trio and the gate operator at around 03 AM on Tuesday (06), when they attempted to move across while the railway gate was closed. Sri Lanka Police said that it was then the railway gate operators\ was assaulted by a local politician and two others. The suspects are to be produced in court on Tuesday (06).
