COLOMBO (News 1st) - Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who is on an official visit to Sri Lanka, is scheduled to leave the country this afternoon, concluding his official visit to Sri Lanka.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that before his departure, the Indian Defence Minister is scheduled to visit the Seetha Amman Temple in Nuwara Eliya this morning.
Director General of International Security Cooperation and Public Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thushara Rodrigo said the visit aims to further strengthen the deep historical ties between Sri Lanka and India, particularly the shared connections to ancient legends such as the Ramayana.
During his visit to Nuwara Eliya, the Indian Defence Minister is also expected to meet members of Sri Lanka’s Indian-origin plantation community.
