CSE hits a negative note on Wednesday

COLOMBO (News1st): The Colombo Stock Exchange closed on a negative today, with its benchmark Index losing 2.9 percent compared to yesterday. The All Share Price Index closed 231 Basis points lower to close at 7,732.43, while the more liquid S&P SL20 index lost 82.22 basis points to close at 3,087.70. Daily turnover reached Rs 5.1 billion today. The All Share Price Index which was over 8,500 on the 1st of Feb, has declined by 10% since the beginning of this month. The ASPI maintains recorded its highest daily points drop in history on February 2021, with a drop of 561.75 points within the trading day.
