COLOMBO (News 1st): The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested a Regional Manager in the Kilinochchi area for fraudulently selling 30,000 metric tons of paddy stored at the Paddy Marketing Board, the Ministry of Agriculture said on Friday (Dec. 31).
Issuing a communique, the Ministry of Agriculture announced that the arrest was made following an investigation conducted by the CID, into a complaint received by Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage.
Investigations have revealed that he had taken a commission of Rs. 3 per kilogram of Nadu and Rs. 10 per kilogram of Samba.
