Sri Lanka to import massive batch of sliced dried coconut

COLOMBO (News1st): The cabinet has approved the importation of 13,000 metric tonnes of sliced dried coconut across three months. "We have taken this measure to support local industries, exporters, producers of coconut oil, and to ensure that the public will be able to purchase coconut oil at a reasonable price," co-cabinet spokesman Ramesh Pathirana said. The imports would be carried out by B.C.C Lanka Limited that falls under the industries ministry.
