Prisoner serving life sentence in Mahara, dies of COVID-19

Colombo (News 1st); An 82-year-old prisoner serving life imprisonment at the Mahara Prison has died.
Prisons Commissioner Chandana Ekanayake said that a post-mortem examination had revealed that he had tested positive for COVID19.
Meanwhile, 25 more COVID19 cases have been identified in prisons.
Accordingly, the total number of COVID19 cases identified from prisons in the country is now at 682.
