MCC Final Report given to Cabinet Ministers to present their views on recommendations

Colombo (News 1st); The Final Report of the Committee appointed to Review The Millennium Challenge Corporation Compact was handed over to the Cabinet of Minister to seek their views on the recommendations made in the report.

Joint Cabinet Spokesperson Minister (Dr.) Bandula Gunwardena speaking to reporters on Thursday said the President instructed the Cabinet Ministers to present their views on the recommendations at the next meeting.

He said Cabinet Ministers would produce individual reports after studying the Final Report of the Review Committee.

"As per the statement made by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa during our period as Government, any agreement which is in violation of the constitution and the laws, will not be signed," said Minister Gunawardena adding it does not matter if it is with China or Russia or any other nation.

"We will not engage in politics aimed at the gallery," he said.
