COLOMBO (News 1st):- The first Sri Lankan to test positive to COVID-19 left the Infectious Disease Hospital, in Angoda following a complete recovery. He is a 52-year-old tour guide, who tested positive for COVID-19 on the 11th of March.
Director-General of Health Services, Dr Anil Jasinghe said the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka now stands at 91. As at 5:00 am, the number of patients was 85 and are receiving treatment at hospitals.
77 are admitted to the IDH while 8 are receiving treatment at the Welikanda Base Hospital. 227 patients are under medical supervision at hospitals.
The patient count from various areas as at 5:00 am:
- Colombo - 19
- Gampaha - 10
- Kalutara - 8
- Puttalam - 6
- Ratnapura - 3
- 1 patient each from Kurunegala, Galle, Kegalle, Batticaloa, Badulla and Jaffna.
32 are currently at quarantine centres.
As for the age distribution, the majority of the patients (35.6%) are between the ages of 41 - 50, while 17.2% of the patients are between the ages of 31 and 40. 71% of patients are male while 29% are female.
