Health Ministry issues advisory for Sri Lankans returning to the country

Colombo (News 1st) - The Ministry of Health has issued a set of guidelines for Sri Lankan nationals returning to the country from overseas, in a bid to prevent the spread of Covid 19. The Director-General of Health Services has requested for people returning to the country to remain in their homes for a period of 14 days. They have also been advised not to undertake any foreign travel immediately after returning to the country. The Director-General added that health officials are ready to provide quarantine services for people returning from countries such as South Korea, Iran, and Italy. Quarantine centers have been set up in Batticaloa and Kandakaduwa.  Passengers arrived on a flight from South Korea would become the first batch of such people to be placed in quarantine, they are to be transported to the quarantine centers through a special bus service.
