Colombo (News 1st)- Sri Lankan Airlines has canceled flights to Jeddah during the period of 15th March to 30th April following restrictions being set in place by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of Saudi Arabia on the entry of foreign nationals into Saudi Arabia, in view of the present Coronavirus pandemic. This will also include the passengers traveling for the purpose of Umrah or visiting the Prophet’s Mosque.
However, the flights to the cities of Riyadh and Dammam.will continue to operate.
Furthermore, flights between Sri Lanka and China have been canceled from 10th March to 30th April due to current market conditions driven by a significant reduction in worldwide travel to and from China. While noting that SriLankan Airlines continued to fly to China after many airlines suspended services or reduced frequencies, the national carrier states that they stand ready to re-commence operations even prior to 30th April if the current market conditions are to normalize.
