Former SriLankan CEO and Wife remanded once again

Colombo (News 1st) - Former SriLankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena and his spouse Priyanka Neomali Wijeynayake, were ordered to be further remanded today. Kapila Chandrasena and his wife have been charged with laundering a sum of 2 million US dollars, which they received as a bribe to influence the procurement of 10 Airbus aircraft for SriLankan Airlines. The suspects were produced before Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake today. The duo were taken into custody on the 6th of this month after they surrendered to the Criminal Investigations Department. Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake ordered today that Chandrasena and his wife be further remanded until the 4th of March.
