STF arrests 10 persons for illegal sand mining

Colombo (News 1st) - 10 persons have been arrested in multiple raids conducted islandwide, to catch illegal sand miners. The police STF noted that the suspects were arrested from the Valachenei, Maskeliya, Murunkan, Samanthurie, Godakawela and Ambalantota areas. The DTF has also taken into custody a number of items used by the suspects in their sand mining operations.
