Sri Lankan indoor cricket team wins historic first overseas series in England

Colombo (News 1st) - The Sri Lankan national indoor cricket team clinched their first overseas series win on Wednesday (Jan 15) defeating England. Sri Lanka entered the 3rd day of the 6 match tournament being worked off in Birmingham leading the series 3- 1. Game 5 saw the hosts batting first and setting a target of 88 runs. They managed to cling onto victory by restricting Sri Lanka to 86 runs. Game 6 was the series decider and Sri Lanka needed to win, to secure a historic series win. The touring party managed to defend 66 runs and went onto win the game by 10 runs, clinching the 6 game series 4-2 in the process. This is incidentally the first overseas series win by the Sri Lankan indoor cricket in 20 years.
