Salaries of state institution chairpersons restricted

Colombo (News 1st) - The Secretary to the President has issued a circular restricting the salaries of Chairpersons of State Institutions and Boards to Rs 100,000 a month. According to the circular, the Chairpersons would receive one official vehicle. Meanwhile, the circular also restricts the salary given to individuals appointed to Board Director positions in state institutions to Rs 25,000 a month.  These individuals will not receive an officials vehicle in accordance with the circular. The Circular has been issued in line with the President's directive to cut down the expenses of the Government.
