What have the rulers done after obtaining the votes? Anura Kumara Dissanayake

Colombo (News 1st): A rally of the National People's Power Movement was held at the Uyanwatte Grounds, Matara this evening (November 8). Speaking at the rally Presidential Candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake said:

"15 Governments have been formed with the involvement of the people. The country has been handed over to the UNP for 37 years. 34 years have been given to the SLFP led coalition. Our country has gone through every single disaster a country can go through. If you take a look at all the sectors nothing positive or prosperous has been left for the people. But what did we do? We always build Governments with a positive outlook. I don't think the voters who voted for the UNP expected this disaster upon the country. They did not wish for it either. They wished for a better future. Even if the SLFP supporters, when they vote, they hope for a better future. Therefore, nothing was wrong with the supporters. But what have the rulers done after obtaining the votes of those supporters? After coming into power they governed the country in a manner where it was against the hopes, the aspirations and the needs of the people. Isn't that the reality?"
