5 schools in Polonnaruwa named as National schools

Colombo (News 1st): Five schools in the Polonnaruwa district have been named as National schools. Accordingly, Thopawewa Maha Vidyalaya, Kaduruwela Muslim Central College, Vilayaya Maha Vidyalaya, Diwulankadawala Maha Vidyalaya and Bakamoona Mahasena Maha Vidyalaya have been named as national schools. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Governor of the North Central Province Sarath Ekanayake. The President's Media Unit noted that measures have been taken to upgrade these schools following required development activities under “Pibidemu Polonnaruwa” Programme launched under the guidance of President Maithripala Sirisena.
