NBRO issues AMBER Landslide warning for Kegalle

Colombo (News1st) - The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has issued a landslide early warning for 5 districts as the rainfall within the past 24-hours continues to increase. The NBRO has issued advisories for DS Divisions in the Kalutara, Galle, Kegalle, Ratnapura, and Matara districts for potential threats of landslides, slope failures, rock falls, cutting failures and ground subsidence. Amber alerts have been issued to residents of Yatiyantota DS Division of the Kegalle District and Athuraliya, Pitabeddara DS Divisions of the Matara District. Yellow Alerts have been issued to residents of Dodangoda, Ingiriya, Palindanuwara, Horana DS divisions in the Kalutara district, Dehiowita DS Division of the Kegalle District, Galle Four Gravets, Neluwa, Thawalama DS Divisions in the Galle district, Kalawana, Ayagama, Kiriella, Ehaliyagoda, Ratnapura, Kuruwita of the Ratnapura District.

RED ALERTS

have been issued to residents of the Bulathsinhala, Walallawita, Matugama, Agalawatta DS divisions in the Kalutara District and Elpitiya, Niyagma, Nagoda, Imaduwa, Badegama DS Divisions in the Galle District.
