DMC reports threats of minor flooding

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Irrigation declared that water level of the Nilwala River has risen to a minor flood level in the Oorava and Paanadhugama areas. Director of the Hydrology Unit of the Department, Maala Alawathugoda noted that the water level of the Nilwala River has reached a critical level in the Pitabeddara area. In addition, the water level of the Gin Ganga has reached to a level of risk in the Thawalama area. The Irrigation Department informs the residents living in the lowlands along the rivers to remain cautious.
