Northern Line Disrupted After Night Mail Train Derails

COLOMBO (News 1st); The night mail train travelling from Colombo Fort to Kankesanthurai derailed at the Senarathgama railway station last night.

The Railway Department stated that as a result of the derailment, train operations on the Northern Line have been disrupted 

The Railway Department also mentioned that the night mail train travelling from Kankesanthurai to Colombo Fort has been arranged to operate only up to Anuradhapura.

The Railway Department added that a relief train has been dispatched to the site to re-rail the derailed train, with restoration work expected to begin promptly.
